Essential preferences

We store your theme choice (light or dark) and language preference (locale) in your browser so the site displays consistently on return visits. These settings are necessary for basic functionality and do not require consent under applicable ePrivacy rules.

Analytics (with your consent)

If you accept analytics, we record anonymised usage events in sessionStorage for the current browser session (for example page views, tool opens, and error reports). This data helps us improve gene.re. Analytics does not run until you give consent through our cookie banner.

Aggregated analytics may also be stored in our internal database for up to 24 months, as described in our Privacy Policy. We do not sell analytics data.

Advertising and security (with your consent)

If you accept advertising cookies, Google AdSense and its partners may set cookies or use similar technologies to serve, personalise, and measure ads according to Google’s Privacy Policy.

We may also load Google reCAPTCHA when needed to protect forms or endpoints against abuse. reCAPTCHA is activated only after you consent to the relevant category.

How to refuse or withdraw consent

When you first visit gene.re, a consent banner lets you accept or refuse non-essential cookies. You can change your choice at any time using the cookie settings control available in the site footer or by clearing site data in your browser.

Withdrawing consent does not affect the lawfulness of processing based on consent before withdrawal. Refusing analytics or advertising cookies may limit certain features (for example personalised ads) but core tools remain usable.
