Acceptance

Last updated: June 2026. By accessing or using gene.re, you agree to these Terms of Use. If you do not agree, please do not use the site. These terms complement our Legal Notice and Privacy Policy.

Description of the service

gene.re provides free browser-based utilities: QR and barcode generators, converters, developer helpers, a URL shortener, and related tools. Most processing runs locally in your browser; some features require limited server-side processing as described on each tool page and in our Privacy Policy.

The service is provided at no charge and is funded through advertising. We may modify, suspend, or discontinue any tool or feature at any time.

Acceptable use

You agree to use gene.re lawfully and in good faith. You must not:

  • Attempt to disrupt, overload, or circumvent security or rate limits;
  • Use automated means to scrape or abuse the service beyond normal use;
  • Upload, generate, or link to unlawful, harmful, or infringing content;
  • Misrepresent your identity or affiliation when contacting us.

Compliance with applicable law is assessed with reference to French law and the laws of your country of residence or operation, whichever imposes stricter obligations for the activity in question.

URL shortener

When using the URL shortener, you must not create links to pornographic content, illegal material, phishing pages, malware, or any destination that violates applicable law.

gene.re may remove or disable any short link that we reasonably believe is non-compliant, abusive, or harmful, without prior notice.

If you created a short link and can prove authorship (for example by providing technical details available only to the creator), you may request deletion by contacting contact@techalchemy.fr.

Intellectual property on the site

The gene.re name, logo, site design, source code, texts, and original graphics are protected by intellectual property law and remain the property of Techalchemy or its licensors. You may not copy, modify, or redistribute site materials except as permitted by law or with our prior written consent.

Trademarks and content belonging to third parties (including advertisers) remain the property of their respective owners.

Output from the tools

Subject to third-party licences that may apply to embedded libraries or fonts, you may use output generated by gene.re tools for personal, commercial, or professional purposes without obligation to mention gene.re, unless a specific tool page provides different terms.

Disclaimer of liability

gene.re is provided “as is” without warranty of any kind. We strive for accuracy and availability but do not guarantee that tools are error-free, uninterrupted, or suitable for a particular purpose.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Techalchemy shall not be liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the site, including reliance on generated output, short-link destinations, or third-party content accessed through our tools.

You remain solely responsible for how you use generated codes, converted files, shortened URLs, and any other output.

Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms of Use at any time. The date at the top of this page indicates the latest revision. Continued use of gene.re after changes are published constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.

Governing law and mediation

These terms are governed by French law. Mandatory consumer protection rules of your country of residence apply where they cannot be waived.
