Introduction

Last updated: June 2026. This Privacy Policy describes how Techalchemy (“we”, “us”) processes personal data when you visit gene.re or use our services. It complies with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and applicable French data protection law.

Most toolbox features process your input locally in your browser. We do not receive the content you type or the files you select for those tools unless explicitly stated on the tool page.

URL shortener

When you create a short link, we store the destination URL, fetched Open Graph metadata (title, description, image URL), creation time, and aggregated click data. IP addresses may be processed temporarily for security and abuse prevention.

We do not use short-link data for profiling or marketing. Non-compliant links may be removed as described in our Terms of Use. Creators who can prove they created a link may request deletion via contact@techalchemy.fr.

Analytics

With your consent, we collect anonymised usage statistics using session-scoped browser storage and our internal database. Events may include page views, tool opens, browser family, and referrer host. We use a random session identifier that is not linked to your identity.

Analytics data is used solely to understand usage patterns and fix errors. It is not sold or shared with third parties for their own purposes.

Advertising

With your consent, we may display Google AdSense advertisements. Google and its partners may process personal data (including cookie identifiers) to serve and measure ads. See Google’s Privacy Policy and manage preferences in your Google account or via our Cookie Policy.

Retention

Personal data stored in our internal database is retained for a maximum of 24 months from the date of collection or last activity, unless a longer period is required by law or needed to establish, exercise, or defend legal claims.

Server security logs may be kept for a shorter operational period. Contact correspondence is retained for as long as necessary to handle your request.

Recipients and no sale of data

Personal data is processed exclusively by Techalchemy and our hosting provider PulseHeberg SAS acting as a processor under our instructions. We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal data.

Google may receive data when you consent to advertising or when reCAPTCHA is loaded, as described above.

International transfers

Data is stored and processed within the European Union. We do not transfer personal data outside the EU except where you accept Google advertising or security services, in which case Google may process data according to its own terms and applicable transfer mechanisms (such as Standard Contractual Clauses).

Your rights

Under the GDPR, you have the following rights regarding your personal data:

  • Access — obtain confirmation and a copy of data we hold about you;
  • Rectification — request correction of inaccurate data;
  • Erasure — request deletion where legally applicable;
  • Restriction — request limited processing in certain circumstances;
  • Portability — receive data you provided in a structured, machine-readable format where applicable;
  • Objection — object to processing based on legitimate interests;
  • Withdraw consent — withdraw consent at any time for consent-based processing, without affecting prior lawful processing.

To exercise your rights, email contact@techalchemy.fr. We may ask for information to verify your identity. We respond within one month, extendable where permitted by law.

Complaint to a supervisory authority

If you believe our processing violates applicable data protection law, you have the right to lodge a complaint with the French supervisory authority, the CNIL (www.cnil.fr), or with the authority of your EU member state of residence.

Changes

We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect legal or operational changes. The date at the top indicates the latest version. Material changes will be communicated on the site where appropriate.
